December 22, 2023: Heyworth, IL 61745 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) and the host Heyworth Hornets (Heyworth, IL), saw St. Thomas More's basketball squad overcome Heyworth by a tally of 47-32.
With the victory, St. Thomas More improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Sabers travel to Schlarman (Danville, IL) to confront the Hilltoppers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Hilltoppers come into the challenge with a record of 0-4. Schlarman lost 57-11 in their recent league challenge against Iroquois West (Gilman, IL)
Next up, the Hornets confront the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) in a Heart Of Illinois challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Heyworth will attempt to improve on its 4-11 season record.
