The Smithville Smithies basketball team scored 88 points and limited the host Newcomerstown Trojans to 54 in the Smithies non-league triumph on Monday.

The Smithies now have a 6-0 record. They play next when they travel to Dalton for a Wayne County game on Friday, December 27. Smithville will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 57-30 league loss to Norwayne (Creston, OH). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Newcomerstown falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Trojans host East Canton (East Canton, OH) to confront the Hornets in a Inter-Valley game on Friday, December 27. The Hornets go into the game with a record of 3-3. East Canton lost 55-42 in their recent league game against Malvern (Malvern, OH)
