The Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL) basketball were winner over the host Springstead Eagles (Spring Hill, FL), 58-49 in Tuesday's non-league test.

Next, the Mustangs encounter the Sunlake Seahawks (Land O' Lakes, FL) in a 6A District 9 test, on Monday, January 5. Mitchell will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record.

The Eagles (0-12) will now prepare for their test against Hillsdale (Jeromesville, OH). The Falcons come into the non-league test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Hillsdale fell by Smithville (Smithville, OH), 68-66, in a league bout.
