Illinois High School Basketball - Athens fells North Greene
December 26, 2023: White Hall, IL 62092 Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host North Greene Spartans (White Hall, IL), 49-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Athens upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Warriors travel to Auburn (Auburn, IL) to clash with the Trojans in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 11-1. Auburn won 65-45 in their recent non-league bout against Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL)
Next up, the Spartans clash with the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes (Griggsville, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley bout, on Wednesday, January 3. North Greene will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a 11-2 record after their 52-50 non-league win over Calvary (Springfield, IL).
