Michigan High School Basketball - Mumford can't hold off International Academy
December 26, 2024: Detroit, MI 48221 International Academy Phoenix (Flint, MI) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Mumford Mustangs (Detroit, MI), 72-65 in a non-league battle.
With the victory, International Academy advances its record to 5-1 on the year. The Phoenix travel to Atherton (Burton, MI) to meet the Wolverines in a Genesee Area - Red battle on Friday, January 3. The Wolverines enter the battle with a record of 1-6.
The Mustangs now own a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Lake for a non-league battle on Friday, December 27. Mumford will meet a Cavaliers squad coming off a 56-14 non-league win over Flint Southwestern Academy (Flint, MI). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-4.
