Illinois High School Basketball - Sandburg holds off Maine East
December 26, 2024: Park Ridge, IL 60068 The Sandburg Eagles basketball team scored 60 points and limited the host Maine East Blue Demons to 59 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Eagles now possess a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Hoffman Estates for a non-league game on Monday, December 30. Sandburg will confront a Hawks team coming off a 54-37 non-league win over Carmel (Mundelein, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 11-3.
With the loss, Maine East falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Blue demons host Grayslake North (Grayslake, IL) to confront the Knights in a non-league game on Friday, December 27. The Knights go into the game with a record of 6-5. Grayslake North lost 77-56 in their recent non-league game against Hononegah (Rockton, IL)
