In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Rio Mesa Spartans basketball team scored a good 77-64 triumph over the Portola Bulldogs.

The Spartans (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against Mission College Prep (San Luis Obispo, CA). The Royals enter the non-league battle with a 10-2 record. In their last battle, Mission College Prep knocked off Newbury Park (Newbury Park, CA), 69-44, in a non-league battle.
