The Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) basketball knocked off the visiting Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT), 59-46 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Nighthawks (1-1) will now prepare for their test against Darien (Darien, CT). The Blue Wave go into the non-league test with a 3-0 record. In their last test, Darien notched a victory over Platt RVT (Milford, CT), 79-41, in a non-league test.

The Highlanders now own a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Wamogo Regional for a Berkshire test on Tuesday, January 3.
