The Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) basketball nipped the host North Canyon Rattlers (Phoenix, AZ), 74-70 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Scorpions (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Mica Mountain (Tucson, AZ). The Thunderbolts go into the non-league test with a 12-0 record. In their last test, Mica Mountain got by Greenway (Phoenix, AZ), 59-50, in a non-league test.

The Rattlers now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Poway for a non-league test on Friday, December 29. North Canyon will encounter a Titans squad coming off a 54-38 non-league win over Moon Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Titans record now stands at 6-10.
