Timpson Bears (Timpson, TX) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Martins Mill Mustangs (Ben Wheeler, TX), 63-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Timpson upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Hooks (Hooks, TX) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Hornets go into the test with a record of 15-0. Hooks won 69-50 in their recent non-league test against Lipan (Lipan, TX)

The Mustangs now own a 17-2 record. They play next when they travel to Tatum for a non-league test on Thursday, December 28. Martins Mill will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 77-68 non-league loss to Kountze (Kountze, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 7-6.
