New Jersey High School Basketball - West Side nips University
December 27, 2023: Newark, NJ 07103 West Side Roughriders (Newark, NJ) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting University Phoenix (Newark, NJ), 56-53 in a league bout.
With the win, West Side upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Roughriders travel to Arts (Newark, NJ) to play the Jaguars in a Super Essex - American bout on Thursday, December 28. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Arts won 70-21 in their recent non-league bout against Barringer (Newark, NJ)
Next up, the Phoenix play the Verona Hillbillies (Verona, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. University will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
