Illinois High School Basketball - Niles West nips Leyden
December 27, 2023: Franklin Park, IL 60131 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Niles West Wolves (Skokie, IL) and the host Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL), saw Niles West's basketball squad hold off Leyden by a count of 43-39.
With the victory, Niles West upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to Niles North (Skokie, IL) to play the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 28. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Niles North lost 52-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Waukegan (Waukegan, IL)
Next up, the Eagles play the Willowbrook Warriors (Villa Park, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold challenge, on Friday, January 5. Leyden will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 67-49 non-league loss to Waubonsie Valley (Aurora, IL).
