In Friday's non-league test, the Northwest Texans (Justin, TX) basketball squad got by the host Azle Hornets (Azle, TX), by a score of 54-50.

Next, the Texans encounter the Timber Creek Falcons (Fort Worth, TX) in a 6A Region I District 4 test, on Friday, January 3. Northwest will attempt to improve on its 2-17 season record. The Falcons come into the test with a 8-13 record after their 62-55 league win over V.R. Eaton (Fort Worth, TX).
