December 27, 2024: Portsmouth, VA 23703 The Churchland Truckers (Portsmouth, VA) basketball crushed the visiting Phoebus Phantoms (Hampton, VA), 70-39 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Truckers now possess a 7-1 record. They play next when they host Denbigh for a non-league bout on Friday, January 3. Churchland will play a Patriots team coming off a 63-35 non-league loss to Landstown (Virginia Beach, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 4-3.
With the loss, Phoebus falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Phantoms travel to Gloucester (Gloucester, VA) to play the Dukes in a Peninsula bout on Tuesday, January 7. The Dukes go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Gloucester won 72-51 in their recent non-league bout against Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg, VA)
