The South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) basketball were winner over the visiting First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC), 65-57 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Sabres now possess a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Laney for a non-league bout on Saturday, December 28. South Mecklenburg will play a Buccaneers team coming off a 66-48 non-league win over Cape Fear Academy (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, First Flight falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Nighthawks host New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 28. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 7-2. New Hanover won 85-59 in their recent non-league bout against Pine Lake Prep (Mooresville, NC)
