West Virginia High School Basketball - Hampshire thwarts Independence
December 27, 2024: Coal City, WV 25823 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hampshire Trojans (Romney, WV) and the host Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), observed Hampshire's basketball team knock off Independence by a score of 52-36.
The Trojans (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Hoover (Clendenin, WV). The Huskies come into the non-league challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, Hoover prevailed over Elkins (Elkins, WV), 60-49, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV) in a Coalfield AA challenge, on Friday, January 3. Independence will attempt to improve on its 0-3 season record.
