Texas High School Basketball - Lumberton holds off High Island
December 27, 2024: Lumberton, TX 77657 In Friday's non-league contest, the host Lumberton Raiders basketball team scored a close 2-0 triumph over the High Island Cardinals.
The Raiders (12-11) will now prepare for their contest against Tarkington (Cleveland, TX). The Longhorns go into the non-league contest with a 15-3 record. In their last contest, Tarkington nipped Porter (Porter, TX), 58-29, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cardinals confront the Burkeville Mustangs (Burkeville, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 contest, on Friday, January 3. High Island will attempt to improve on its 2-13 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 68-26 non-league loss to Good Samaritan HomeSchool (Fred, TX).
