Georgia High School Basketball - Mill Creek overwhelms Monroe Area

December 27, 2024: Hoschton, GA 30548

The Mill Creek Hawks basketball team scored 72 points and limited the visiting Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes to 45 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hawks now possess a 10-5 record. They play next when they travel to Jackson County for a non-league game on Saturday, December 28. Mill Creek will confront a Panthers team coming off a 87-46 non-league win over Stephens County (Toccoa, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Monroe Area falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Purple hurricanes host Cherokee Bluff (Flowery Branch, GA) to confront the Bears in a AAA Region 8 game on Friday, January 3. The Bears go into the game with a record of 14-1. Cherokee Bluff won 86-76 in their recent non-league game against Rome (Rome, GA)
