Pennsylvania High School Basketball - United overwhelms Somerset

December 27, 2024: Somerset, PA 15501

The United Lions basketball team scored 92 points and limited the host Somerset Eagles to 56 in the Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now have a 7-2 record. They play next when they host Conemaugh Valley for a Heritage game on Thursday, January 2. United will confront a Blue Jays team coming off a 62-45 league win over Cambria Heights (Patton, PA). The Blue Jays record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Somerset falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Philipsburg-Osceola (Philipsburg, PA) to confront the Mountaineers in a Laurel Highlands game on Friday, January 3. The Mountaineers go into the game with a record of 0-7. Philipsburg-Osceola lost 49-47 in their recent non-league game against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy (Boalsburg, PA)
