Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Freeport can't hold off St. Joseph
December 27, 2024: Natrona Heights, PA 15065 St. Joseph Spartans (Natrona Heights, PA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Freeport Yellowjackets (Freeport, PA), 54-51 in a non-league match.
With the victory, St. Joseph advances its record to 7-2 on the year. The Spartans travel to Aquinas Academy (Gibsonia, PA) to encounter the Crusaders in a WPIAL 1A 1 challenge on Thursday, January 2. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 4-4. Aquinas Academy won 47-13 in their recent league challenge against Springdale (Springdale, PA)
In their next game, the Yellowjackets encounter the Valley Vikings (New Kensington, PA) in a WPIAL 4A 1 challenge, on Thursday, January 2. Freeport will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 81-34 non-league loss to Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA).
