In Friday's non-league contest, the host Pine Tree Pirates basketball team scored a good 51-39 win over the Grand Saline Indians.

The Pirates (12-5) will now prepare for their contest against Spring Hill (Longview, TX). The Panthers come into the 4A Region II District 16 contest with a 16-7 record. In their last contest, Spring Hill defeated Grace Community (Tyler, TX), 48-33, in a non-league contest.
