December 28, 2021: Hinckley, IL 60520 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) and the host Hinckley-Big Rock Royals (Hinckley, IL), saw Coal City's basketball squad hold off Hinckley-Big Rock by a tally of 48-47.
With the victory, Coal City improves its record to 2-7 on the campaign. The Coalers travel to Morris (Morris, IL) to play the Redskins in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 29. The Redskins come into the challenge with a record of 6-5. Morris lost 44-38 in their recent league challenge against Sycamore (Sycamore, IL)
Next up, the Royals play the Somonauk Bobcats (Somonauk, IL) in a Little Ten challenge, on Friday, January 7. Hinckley-Big Rock will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 47-39 non-league win over Woodland (Streator, IL).
