December 28, 2021: Shelbyville, TX 75973 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Shelbyville Dragons (Shelbyville, TX) and the visiting Woden Eagles (Woden, TX), saw Shelbyville's basketball squad hold off Woden by a tally of 78-72.
With the victory, Shelbyville improves its record to 2-6 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Martinsville (Martinsville, TX) to play the Pirates in a 2A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, January 4. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 12-6. Martinsville won 44-37 in their recent league challenge against Joaquin (Joaquin, TX)
Next up, the Eagles play the Jefferson Bulldogs (Jefferson, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 29. Woden will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 57-53 non-league loss to Tenaha (Tenaha, TX).
