December 28, 2022: Riner, VA 24149 The Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA), 52-49 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Eagles (7-2) will now prepare for their test against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers go into the Mountain Empire test with a 4-3 record. In their last test, Fort Chiswell was tipped by Tazewell (Tazewell, VA), 61-45, in a non-league test.
The Falcons now own a 4-3 record. They play next when they host Lee for a Mountain test on Tuesday, January 3. Abingdon will encounter a Generals squad coming off a 83-62 non-league loss to Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA). The Generals record now stands at 1-4.
