The East Central Hornets tipped the host Brenham Cubs basketball team by a final score of 36-33 in Wednesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Hornets face the Eagle Pass Eagles (Eagle Pass, TX) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, January 3. East Central will attempt to move on its 14-8 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 12-13 record after their 45-30 non-league loss to South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX).

With the defeat, Brenham moves to 12-8 on the year. The Cubs host Lake Creek (Montgomery, TX) to face the Lions in a 5A Region III District 21 game on Tuesday, January 3. The Lions enter the game with a record of 14-6. Lake Creek won 55-51 in their recent non-league game against Manor (Manor, TX)
