In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Farwell Steers (Farwell, TX) basketball squad nipped the host New Home Leopards (New Home, TX), by a margin of 50-48.

The Steers (12-4) will now prepare for their outing against Nazareth (Nazareth, TX). The Swifts go into the non-league outing with a 8-4 record. In their last outing, Nazareth got by Clarendon (Clarendon, TX), 43-40, in a non-league outing.

The Leopards now own a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Sundown for a 2A Region I District 5 outing on Tuesday, January 3. New Home will clash with a Roughnecks squad coming off a 64-38 league win over Post (Post, TX). The Roughnecks record now stands at 4-5.
