The Powers Catholic Chargers basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish to 52 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Chargers now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beecher for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 5.

The Fighting Irish (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Bishop Foley (Madison Heights, MI). The Ventures enter the non-league contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Bishop Foley was nudged by Almont (Almont, MI), 38-37, in a non-league contest.
