The Santa Monica Vikings basketball team scored 81 points and held the host Hoover Cardinals to 78 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Vikings now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Portola for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 29. Santa Monica will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 70-66 non-league win over Royal (Simi Valley, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-6.

The Cardinals (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Royal (Simi Valley, CA). The Highlanders enter the non-league contest with a 7-10 record. In their last contest, Royal was nudged by Portola (Irvine, CA), 70-66, in a non-league contest.
