Needville Bluejays (Needville, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Salado Eagles (Salado, TX), 49-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Needville upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Bluejays host Royal (Brookshire, TX) to play the Falcons in a 4A Region IV District 25 bout on Friday, December 30. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Royal won 65-55 in their recent non-league bout against Lamar Consolidated (Rosenberg, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Lago Vista Vikings (Lago Vista, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Salado will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 42-37 non-league loss to San Diego (San Diego, TX).
