Potomac Wolverines (Oxon Hill, MD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Northern Patriots (Owings, MD), 62-60 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Potomac upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Wolverines host Fairmont Heights (Capitol Heights, MD) to play the Hornets in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A bout on Thursday, January 5. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 5-2.

Next up, the Patriots play the Chopticon Braves (Morganza, MD) in a Southern Maryland bout, on Thursday, January 5. Northern will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Braves go into the bout with a 8-1 record after their 61-42 non-league win over Leonardtown (Leonardtown, MD).
