Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Vandegrift Vipers (Austin, TX) and the host Ray Texans (Corpus Christi, TX), saw Vandegrift's basketball squad hold off Ray by a tally of 58-53.

With the victory, Vandegrift improves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Vipers travel to Wagner (San Antonio, TX) to play the Thunderbirds in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 29. The Thunderbirds come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Wagner won 49-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Mayde Creek (Houston, TX)
