United Lions (Armagh, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Somerset Eagles (Somerset, PA), 70-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, United upgrades its record to 9-0 on the campaign. The Lions travel to North Star (Boswell, PA) to confront the Cougars in a non-league battle on Thursday, December 29. The Cougars come into the battle with a record of 4-3. North Star won 71-34 in their recent non-league battle against Tussey Mountain (Saxton, PA)

The Eagles (2-4) will now prepare for their battle against Bedford (Bedford, PA). The Bisons come into the Laurel Highlands battle with a 2-5 record. In their last battle, Bedford beat Bellwood-Antis (Bellwood, PA), 62-52, in a non-league battle.
