Delone Catholic Squires (McSherrystown, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Altoona Mountain Lions (Altoona, PA), 36-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Delone Catholic upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Squires travel to Red Lion (Red Lion, PA) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 29. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 6-3. Red Lion won 53-42 in their recent non-league bout against Mifflin County (Lewistown, PA)

Next up, the Mountain Lions play the Cumberland Valley Eagles (Mechanicsburg, PA) in a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Altoona will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 52-41 non-league loss to Westwood (Blythewood, SC).
