Utah High School Basketball - Lehi can't hold off Madison
December 28, 2022: Lehi, UT 84043 The Lehi Pioneers basketball team (Lehi, UT), was nudged 53-49 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Madison Bobcats (Rexburg, ID)
The Bobcats now sport a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ridgeline for a non-league battle on Thursday, December 29. Madison will battle a Riverhawks team coming off a 47-39 non-league win over Rigby (Rigby, ID). The Riverhawks record now stands at 9-0.
The Pioneers (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Elko (Elko, NV). The Indians come into the non-league battle with a 7-1 record. In their last battle, Elko was nudged by Snake River (Blackfoot, ID), 63-35, in a non-league battle.
First Quarter
Both teams got off to a slow start. Madison scored 10 points and Lehi had just 6 in the first quarter.
Second Quarter
Things did not get better for the Pioneers as they only scored 5 points in the second quarter to give them a 11- point first half. The score at the end of the first half is Madison 22 and Lehi 11.
Third Quarter
Madison outscored Lehi 8 to 7 in the third quarter. The Pioneers are down 12 points going into the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter
Lehi had a great fourth quarter scoring 21 point and holding Madison to just 9. The game is tied at 39 each as we go into over-time. Lehi hit 4 three-points shots in the period.
Overtime
This game went to 2 over-times as the Madison team came away with a 53 to 49 Win. Addy Scrivner led Lehi with 18 points and Sammie Love added 13. Lehi shot 20 time from the foul line making 15 of them. Madison went 24 for 38 which was the story of the game.
