In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX) basketball squad nipped the visiting Springtown Porcupines (Springtown, TX), by a margin of 72-68.

The Eagles (8-4) will now prepare for their outing against Madisonville (Madisonville, TX). The Mustangs go into the 4A Region III District 18 outing with a 20-3 record.

The Porcupines now own a 9-15 record. They play next when they travel to Venus for a non-league outing on Wednesday, December 28. Springtown will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 65-30 non-league loss to Kaufman (Kaufman, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-16.
