McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host East Union Lancers (Manteca, CA), 56-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McClatchy upgrades its record to 6-9 on the season. The Lions travel to Oakmont (Roseville, CA) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Oakmont won 75-34 in their recent non-league bout against Gustine (Gustine, CA)

Next up, the Lancers clash with the Gustine Reds (Gustine, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. East Union will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Reds go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 75-34 non-league loss to Oakmont (Roseville, CA).
