Virginia High School Basketball - George Washington can't hold off Orange County
December 28, 2023: Danville, VA 24541 The George Washington Eagles basketball team (Danville, VA), was nudged 54-50 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA)
The Fighting Hornets now possess a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Norfolk Academy for a Tidewater Independent battle on Friday, December 29. Orange County will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 90-67 non-league loss to Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-2.
The Eagles (2-7) will now prepare for their battle against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 6-4 record. In their last battle, Martinsville was nudged by Mount Zion Christian Academy (Durham, NC), 47-37, in a non-league battle.
