Louisiana High School Basketball - Opelousas Catholic overwhelmed by Iowa
December 28, 2023: Iowa, LA 70647 The Iowa Yellowjackets basketball team scored 77 points and restricted the visiting Opelousas Catholic Vikings to 42 in the Yellowjackets non-league victory on Thursday.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Teurlings Catholic for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Iowa will battle a Rebels team coming off a 56-38 non-league win over Crowley (Crowley, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 8-4.
The Vikings (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against Pitkin (Pitkin, LA). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 16-9 record. In their last contest, Pitkin was routed by Glenmora (Glenmora, LA), 53-51, in a non-league contest.
