Texas High School Basketball - Slidell knocked off by Jayton
December 28, 2023: Jayton, TX 79528 The Jayton Jaybirds basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Slidell Greyhounds to 45 in the Jaybirds non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Jaybirds now sport a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Slaton for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 2. Jayton will battle a Tigers team coming off a 68-58 non-league win over Founders Christian (Spring, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 10-8.
The Greyhounds (15-7) will now prepare for their contest against Prairie Valley (Nocona, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 1A Region III District 22 contest with a 4-14 record. In their last contest, Prairie Valley was defeated by Woodson (Woodson, TX), 41-35, in a non-league contest.
