Arkansas High School Basketball - Lonoke fells Newport
December 28, 2023: Lonoke, AR 72086 Lonoke Jackrabbits (Lonoke, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 62-45 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Lonoke upgrades its record to 5-7 on the season. The Jackrabbits host Wynne (Wynne, AR) to play the Yellowjackets in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 30. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 1-11. Wynne lost 69-59 in their recent non-league bout against Riverview (Searcy, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the DeWitt Dragons (DeWitt, AR) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 57-35 non-league win over Palestine-Wheatley (Palestine, AR).
