Kentucky High School Basketball - Russell succumbs to Newport Central Catholic

The Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds topped the visiting Russell Red Devils basketball team by a final score of 77-68 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Thoroughbreds face the Beechwood Tigers (Fort Mitchell, KY) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 6. Newport Central Catholic will attempt to move on its 4-7 season record.

With the defeat, Russell moves to 3-4 on the year. The Red devils travel to Estill County (Irvine, KY) to face the Engineers in a non-league game on Friday, December 29. The Engineers enter the game with a record of 7-3. Estill County lost 63-62 in their recent non-league game against Lafayette (Lexington, KY)
