Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC), saw Ashley's basketball squad hold off Fairmont by a tally of 40-34.

With the victory, Ashley improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Screaming Eagle travel to North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC) to confront the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 29. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 8-3. North Mecklenburg won 43-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC)

Next up, the Golden Tornadoes confront the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 29. Fairmont will attempt to improve on its 10-2 season record. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a 7-1 record after their 50-36 non-league loss to East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC).
