In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles basketball team scored a decisive 48-19 triumph over the North Gaston Wildcats.

In their next game, the Eagles face the Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 29. East Mecklenburg will attempt to move on its 3-8 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 6-3 record after their 59-30 non-league win over Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC).
