The Sands Mustangs basketball team scored 42 points and held the host Garden City Bearkats to 37 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mustangs now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sterling City for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Sands will battle a Eagles team coming off a 36-20 non-league win over Clyde (Clyde, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 9-10.

The Bearkats (16-4) will now prepare for their contest against Klondike (Lamesa, TX). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Klondike was nudged by Gordon (Gordon, TX), 62-36, in a non-league contest.
