Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) and the host Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC), saw North Mecklenburg's basketball squad hold off Northern Guilford by a tally of 43-40.

With the victory, North Mecklenburg improves its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Vikings host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to confront the Screaming Eagle in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 29. The Screaming Eagle come into the challenge with a record of 7-2. Ashley won 40-34 in their recent non-league challenge against Fairmont (Fairmont, NC)

Next up, the Nighthawks confront the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 29. Northern Guilford will attempt to improve on its 9-1 season record.
