Pleasant Grove Spartans (Pleasant Grove, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA), 52-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pleasant Grove upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Spartans travel to Hillcrest (Tuscaloosa, AL) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 29. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 14-5. Hillcrest won 47-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Sparkman (Harvest, AL)

Next up, the Panthers play the Lee Generals (Huntsville, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 29. Sumter County will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Generals come into the challenge with a 10-8 record after their 46-45 non-league loss to Rogers (Toledo, OH).
