Kentucky High School Basketball - Boyd County holds off Lyon County
December 28, 2024: Ashland, KY 41102 The Boyd County Lions basketball team scored 92 points and limited the visiting Lyon County Lyons to 85 in the Lions non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Lions now possess a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to Newport for a non-league game on Sunday, December 29. Boyd County will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 73-41 non-league win over Butler County (Morgantown, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-6.
With the loss, Lyon County falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Lyons host Christian County (Hopkinsville, KY) to battle the Colonels in a non-league contest on Thursday, January 2. The Colonels come into the contest with a record of 0-8. Christian County lost 72-55 in their recent non-league contest against Breathitt County (Jackson, KY)
