Texas High School Basketball - Canyon bested by New Braunfels
December 28, 2024: New Braunfels, TX 78130 New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX), 72-54 in a non-league match.
With the victory, New Braunfels advances its record to 15-9 on the year. The Unicorns host Alamo Heights (San Antonio, TX) to meet the Mules in a 5A Region IV District 26 match on Tuesday, December 31. The Mules enter the match with a record of 18-4. Alamo Heights won 71-24 in their recent non-league match against Southwest Legacy (Von Ormy, TX)
The Cougars now own a 11-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clemens for a 6A Region IV District 29 match on Friday, January 3. Canyon will meet a Buffaloes squad coming off a 52-48 non-league loss to Fort Bend Clements (Sugar Land, TX). The Buffaloes record now stands at 14-9.
