Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Cumberland Valley overwhelms Downingtown West

December 28, 2024: Mechanicsburg, PA 17050

The Cumberland Valley Eagles basketball team scored 82 points and limited the visiting Downingtown West Whippets to 47 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Eagles now have a 8-2 record. They play next when they host Altoona for a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game on Thursday, January 2. Cumberland Valley will confront a Mountain Lions team coming off a 58-49 non-league win over Middletown (Middletown, PA). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Downingtown West falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Whippets travel to Liberty (Bethlehem, PA) to confront the Hurricanes in a non-league game on Monday, December 30. The Hurricanes go into the game with a record of 7-3. Liberty won 58-53 in their recent non-league game against Conrad Science (Wilmington, DE)
