In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Franklin Knights basketball team scored a close 53-50 triumph over the Rocky Grove Orioles.

The Knights (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Conneaut Area (Linesville, PA). The Eagles go into the District 10 Region 5 contest with a 3-3 record.

In their next game, the Orioles battle the Redbank Valley Bulldogs (New Bethlehem, PA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. Rocky Grove will attempt to better on its 6-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 3-2 record after their 78-57 non-league win over Marion Center (Marion Center, PA).
